At last May's meeting of the Council on Foundations at the National Harbor, Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C., more than 40 funders convened to form the Rural Philanthropy Network - a forum for rural funders and funders concerned with rural communities to regularly gather and compare lessons, strategies and best practices for building assets and supporting community change in rural communities. The RPN will be convened periodically throughout the year - including, but not limited to events sponsored by the Council on Foundations, the National Rural Funders Collaborative and the Neighborhood Funders Group.
